At Crufts, we love all things dog, and this year we’re delighted to announce that the Polish Hunting Dog, also known as the Gończy Polski, will be joining us at Crufts 2025! In even more exciting news, visitors will have the chance to meet this remarkable breed in the Discover Dogs area, open every day of Crufts.

The Polish Hunting Dog is part of the Hound group and will be joining us as part of Discover Dogs at Crufts this year. So, if you’re interested in seeing this new breed be sure to buy tickets now!

This breed has deep roots in Poland where it’s been prized as a skilled hunting dog, particularly for tracking and hunting boar in forested and mountainous regions. Agile, courageous, and intelligent, this breed has long been admired for its impressive abilities in the field.   

Beyond their working heritage, the Polish Hunting Dog is known for being a loyal and friendly companion. They fit well with active families who can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep them at their best. With their affectionate and playful nature, they bring joy and energy into the home.   

The breed’s distinctive look adds to its appeal and, while the most common coat colour is black and tan, the Gończy Polski can also be found in shades of brown and tan as well as red. Their sleek coat, athletic build, and alert expression make them both elegant and striking.
