Today at Crufts: It all starts here

Let the games begin! It’s the opening Thursday of Crufts and we have 96 hours of the greatest in canine competition to share with you all. Add that to the 500+ stands offering all manner of doggy products and services and planning your day can feel overwhelming.  So, we thought we’d put together a handy guide to help you navigate your way through Day 1 of Crufts…

(Memories from 2024)

08:00: The doors open and the crowds swarm in, many will dive straight to the BP Pulse LIVE main arena for the opening rounds of the agility (jumping) tournament. But we might suggest wandering over to the Obedience Ring in Hall 5 and claiming a seat for the opening parade which starts at 8:40

09:30: Fancy trying agility yourself? Head over to the Activities Ring in Hall 3 where visitors can have a go on the agility course… with a dog of course, so no need to crawl through that tunnel yourself!

12:00: After exploring some of the wares in halls 3 and 2 we would recommend grabbing a seat in the main arena for the first final of the show - the ‘Crufts Novice’ Agility Cup Final.

13:30: Time to refuel, and there are several good options – We are looking to start things off with a classic by picking up some fish and chips from the big red bus, which you’ll find in Hall 1 near the BP Pulse LIVE entrance

14:00 Fully fed and watered, swing by the Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme Ring in Hall 3 for the much-anticipated Tunnel of Temptation! Watch as dogs put their training to the test in this fun and challenging display- will they resist the distractions? You might even pick up some training tips to take home to your own dog!

15:00: After enjoying some training inspiration, head back to the main arena for the sweet sixteen of the Flyball tournament – a fast, loud and unforgettable experience guaranteed to get your heart racing.

15:55: Stick around in the BP Pulse LIVE for another exciting West Midlands Police Dog Display, showcasing the incredible skills and dedication of these working dogs and their handlers.

16:00: There's still plenty to see! Hall 5 hosts grooming displays all day AND don't forget to visit Tthe Kennel Club stand in Hall 3 which will be launching the 2025 ‘Art of Crufts’ range and trust us- the hoodies and T-shirts flew off the shelves last year, so grab yours before they’re gone!

18:00: The day ends on a high note with the final judging of the Terrier and Hound groups in the Main Arena. Who will earn a coveted spot in Sunday’s Best in Show finale?

20:00: And the last orders bell is sounded for the first day. As the famous phrase goes “you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here”.
