To help ensure suitable dogs are available for the competition, competitors are advised not to select any of the following breeds:
Afghan Hound, Akita, Basenji, Bulldog, German Shepherd Dog, Giant Schnauzer, Japanese Akita Inu, Kerry Blue Terrier, Lhasa Apso, Old English Sheepdog, Pekingese, Rottweiler, Saluki and Shih Tzu.
Please also note that Working and Pastoral judging takes place on the same day as the International Junior Handling Competition. As a result, it may be more challenging to source dogs from these groups for competitors to handle. We therefore recommend selecting a breed from Toy, Utility, Gundog, Terrier and Hound groups where possible."
Please choose a breed which you feel comfortable handling on a loose lead. Dogs should not be picked up by the lead/neck and/or the tail. Please refer to Breeds A to Z | The Royal Kennel Club for a list of UK recognised breeds.
